ROY LANG

Artist biography

As well as an accomplished artist, Roy has always been a keen angler, and it is combining both these passions that he developed a love for the sea. Finding creative inspiration in the movement of crashing waves and coastal sounds he interprets the spirit of the the coast on the canvas beautifully.

Based in the South Hams of Devon, he has depicted many iconic scenes and returns to paint them over and over again, each time creating completely different views that reflect the hand of the elements and a sea that continues to change and never stays still. His favourite media is oils, but sometimes the immediacy of acrylic gives him the opportunity to work at a different speed.

Roy Lang is an Honorary member of the SAA and has been a member since 2000. His work has been exhibited in predominant places such as Mall Galleries in London or the Slimbridge flower & wildlife sanctuary. Some of his pieces have been acquired for collections as far afield as Spain, Canada and the US, as well as nationwide.
