About Anna Ventura artist
Artist and designer Anna Ventura started her creative career in the early 2000 in Barcelona. While living there, she developed her artistic skills with foundation studies specilising in Arts. Soon after, she completed a bachelors degree of Fine Arts & Graphic Design at the University of Barcelona. Then, in 2009, she visited Devon when she was invited to undertake a final project in Illustration at the University of Plymouth.
Anna fell in love with the area of the South Hams in Devon straight away and decided to stay permanently. She spent years creating a portfolio of work, inpired by the her surroundings, finally showing her work outside academia in 2013. The artist has successfully exhibited in the Devon scene since then with works in several galleries and independent exhibitions. And has acted as an Arts organiser since 2014.
The tidal Gallery
In 2018 she opened Tidal Gallery in Kingsbridge. She had a vision of a clean curated space where professional local artists could exhibit and be represented fairly. Anna gave her career a boost with this move. And she now works full time from her studio at the back of the Gallery. Her work is varied, but focuses on her stongest quality, intricate drawing. She feels constrantly inspired by the Devon landscape, fauna and flora and it has become a recurrent theme.
In 2020, the year of the pandemic, she became a mother. Her daughter gave her a new motivation to make and create. And even though she hasn’t got as much time as she used to, returning to work has been joyful. She is creating new pieces and commissions constantly. And you can find her working at the gallery alongside Sally. She will be presenting new work at the 2021 Arts Trail.
Make sure to look at all other Anna Ventura pieces for sale. Including small sketches, something more bijoux.
