James Savage is a maker/designer living in Torquay, Devon. Where he works creating beautiful pieces of ceramic art using Raku firing techniques. His alchemistic approach to glazes help him to create pieces with iridescent colours that are naturally diverse, unique and impossible to replicate. His vases are minimalist yet sculptural and lend themselves to becoming collectable objects of treasure.
After graduating in Photography, James found that he craved working directly with his hands and so began studying everything from stone masonry to cheese making. His creative array of abilities now ranges from hand carved stonewares, industrial copper lighting, slip cast ceramics, watercolour illustrations, brass jewellery and more. Part of the creative process is the discovery of new media to evolved ideas into pieces of art.
