Gilly Cotter holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the West of England College in Bristol. Her Art career has taken many turns, currently, Gilly works in oil paints, print making, and sculptural ceramics. She interprets the natural world around her, including fauna and flora. And enjoys reflecting the way light creates patterns on the water in the local beauty spots. Ultimately, it’s the emotions that complete her works, sharing with the viewer the feeling of serenity that the South Hams of Devon has to offer.
All in all, Gilly's accolades are numerous, she is involved with many local Art associations. Such as the Salcombe Art Club, South Hams Arts Forum and Pressgang Print Makers. In the past, also member of Fosseway Artists.
She has exhibited her work regularly over the years and has been sold to many destinations. She previously exhibited at galleries such as Harbour House (Kingsbridge), the Garden Gallery (Cheltenham) or Compton Cassey Gallery (Artrix) among many others. Also, she was also selected to exhibit at the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) Machynlleth.
