Amanda Brooks works from her home studio in Modbury, South Devon, where she lives with her family and various pets in a bright, converted church. Even though her Art is currently inspired and informed by the local outstanding natural beauty, her Art career launched whilst living in New Zealand where she first felt the pull to create inspired by the new wild and weird creatures and landscapes of that part of the world.
Her style has developed over the years, combining her interests at every stage telling a tale of her Art career and evolution as an artist and individual. From her everlasting admiration of the rich and sumptuous colours of heritage paintings - where her passion for gold comes from - to the natural world anatomical drawings which combined with an interest in Asian art has led to her current series of paintings.
Amanda now exhibits locally alongside other artists at independent exhibitions and galleries. Her work can be found in collections in the UK, USA and New Zealand.
