Artist Amanda Brooks works from her home studio in Modbury, South Devon. She lives with her family and various pets in a bright, converted church. Her Art is currently inspired and informed by the local outstanding natural beauty. But her Art career launched whilst living in New Zealand surrounded by new wild creatures and landscapes.
Her style has developed over the years combining her interests at every stage, proof of evolution as an artist and individual. Her interest started with an everlasting admiration of the rich and sumptuous colours of heritage paintings. That is what informed her decision to use gold in her paintings. She also admires the natural world anatomical drawings and Asian art which has led to her current series of paintings.
Amanda now exhibits locally alongside other artists at independent exhibitions and galleries. Her work can be found in collections in the UK, USA and New Zealand.
