Allison Sylvester's Art career has followed many paths. A foundation course in Devon first took her into a creative path. After that, she undertook a degree in Jewellery and Metalwork from Loughborough College of Art and Design.
A move to London followed where she set up a successful stationary business in the 1980s. But soon another change of direction was to follow. She then undertook a Masters degree in Fine Art and Printmaking at Camberwell College of Art. By then her artistic career had also merged with bringing up children. So she decided to dedicate time to both her passions. She took a post as primary arts coordinator in Southwark for five years.
Since returning to Devon with her family, Allie has continued to work in education as an Art technician. In parallel, she has continued to develop her own printmaking and painting practice. And some of her works are available at Tidal Gallery. We are proud to display her most popular work: Contemporary depictions of insects, bees and butterflies in graphite with a touch of gold leaf.
